Artificial intelligence, from the early 2000s, was present in our daily lives in various forms but was unnoticed. AI has come a very long way since its inception, and the introduction of chatbots in the 21st century has revolutionized the field even further. Now it has gained a significant amount of attention and has transformed various aspects of our lives.

AI has existed for many decades, but we didn't fully appreciate it until recently. In 1995, the software first began to mimic human conversation, and by 1997, computers started to defeat people in games. Technology advances brought AI to our everyday lives through innovations like Siri on iPhones and Alexa on Amazon devices, said Nevil D’souza, Professor and Ph.D. scholar in AI.

While early algorithms paved the way for simpler tasks, machine learning, and neural network breakthroughs fueled AI's exponential growth. However, it wasn't until recent times that major advancements in computing power and access to vast datasets unlocked the true potential of AI in the corporate world. “ In the beginning, it was not actually AI. It is basically an ( NLP) natural language processing) process wherein they understand certain keywords through voice, and then an adequate response is given over a period of time," said Suraj Nambiar, professor and entrepreneur.

Today, chatbots and other types of AI softwares have developed into revolutionary systems where one can make them do different types of functions such as , making them schedule appointments, to answering complex questions, handling a large amount of data, making automated processes for businesses and many more.

But just like any other tech in its initial version, chatbots like chat GPT, Bard AI, etc. are not perfect at all. There are problems regarding the reliability of information. People should not yet rely completely on these bots for information on complex topics. Somehow, these chatbots fabricate information and provide definitive statements about uncertain history.

The journey of AI has been a remarkable one , its has proven to be helpful in many different industries, from e-commerce, health-care, customer service, and many more fields . But as we move forward ,it is essential to balance the usage of AI in our daily lives to make sure there is always a human touch in any work we do, as that is something AI will never be able to do.
